On Wix, the cheapest plan that can take a payment or a booking is Core, at $29 a month billed yearly. The Light plan below it, at $17, cannot do either. The bigger difference is how you get there. Wix hands you an editor and 2,000-odd templates, and the site is what you make of them. Business Lane asks for your services, hours, photos and prices, drafts the wording for you to approve, and lays it out in one of five designs. You give up pixel-level control, and you get a finished site in an afternoon.

Wix is the more flexible product, and its bookings are the more complete: customers book a slot outright and can pay a deposit. Business Lane’s are requests you confirm. If that suits how you work, you get the site, the booking inbox, the shop and the back office for one flat price.

  2. Bring your services, prices and hours

    Paste the descriptions from your Wix pages, or let the AI draft them from your trade and edit what it writes. Nothing is published until you approve it.

  3. Upload your photos

Questions about switching from Wix

Is Business Lane cheaper than Wix?

For a site that takes bookings or payments, usually. Wix’s first plan that can do either is Core, at $29 a month billed yearly (Wix’s published price, September 2026). Business Lane’s Website plan is $20 a month with appointment requests, and the Business plan is $25 a month with an online shop, invoices and stock control. Wix’s Light plan, at $17, is cheaper but cannot take a payment or a booking.

Does Business Lane take a cut of my sales?

No. You pay the monthly price and nothing per booking, order or invoice. Card payments go through your own Stripe account at Stripe’s standard rate. Wix says it charges no extra transaction fee either, so on this point the two are the same.

Can I move my Wix site over automatically?

There is no importer. You copy across your services, prices, hours and photos — or let the AI draft the wording from your trade — which most owners finish in an afternoon. Because Business Lane lays the pages out for you, there is no design to rebuild.

Can I keep my own domain name?

Not connected directly yet: every Business Lane site lives at its own address on business-lane.com. A domain you own stays yours, and most registrars can forward it to your new address. If your domain on its own is what matters most, Wix can connect it on any paid plan today.

Is there a free trial?
