For hardware and DIY stores
A hardware shop carries thousands of lines, most of them small, cheap, and easy to run out of at the worst possible moment. Knowing what is actually on the shelf is the whole job.

Business Lane puts your shop online — what you stock, what you can order in, your hours and where you are — so the customer standing in a half-finished bathroom finds you instead of driving to the retail park. Trade services like key cutting, blade sharpening or tool hire go on as services alongside the products.
Behind that, every line carries a barcode and a stock level. Print shelf labels on ordinary sheets, scan sales onto an invoice as you serve, and get warned when a fast-moving line drops low. Trade customers get their own record and a proper invoice they can put through their books.
Stock levels with low-stock alerts on the fixings and fittings that vanish quietly and cost you a sale when they do.
Scan the code off the manufacturer's box, or generate your own for loose stock, cut timber and anything sold by length.
Regulars kept as customer records with proper PDF invoices and overdue alerts, so the builder who pays monthly is not a notebook entry.
Everything above is on the Website plan at $20 a month. The Business plan at $25 adds customer records, invoices, barcode labels and inventory — compare the two plans.
Adding them is the real work, and it is honest to say so — but you do not have to do it all at once. Most shops start with the lines that move fastest and matter most, get those scanning and tracking, and add the long tail over a few weeks. Each product needs a name, a price and a code, and the code can be the one already on the box.
You can list them and price them, but stock is tracked as whole units rather than metres or kilos. For cut timber, rope, chain and cable most shops list common pre-cut lengths as their own products, which scans cleanly and keeps the stock figure meaningful.
Yes — a full PDF invoice with your details and theirs, downloadable to send or print, with an alert when one goes past due. Their record keeps their contact details and history, so the next invoice is a few clicks rather than a fresh document.
