For contractors and trades

A website for your trade business

A homeowner about to spend five figures on their house will look you up first. What they find decides whether you get the call — and "no website" reads as "no track record".

Business Lane gives you somewhere to put the work: finished kitchens, rewires, extensions, bathrooms, each with photographs and a description of what the job involved. That portfolio is the whole argument, and it is the thing a leaflet can never do.

Quote requests come in with the customer, the job and their message attached, so you can price properly. Once the work is done, invoices come out of the same dashboard with a PDF you can send or print.

What contractors & trades actually need

  • The portfolio does the selling

Up to fifty photos with before/after sliders. A finished extension beside the bare garden it replaced is worth more than any paragraph.

  • Enquiries with the job attached

A request tells you what they want and who they are before you ring back, so the first call is about the price, not the basics.

  • Run it from the van

The dashboard works on a phone. Add photos of today's job at the end of the day, and they are on your site before you get home.

What you get

  • A gallery of finished jobs with before/after sliders
  • Every trade you cover listed as its own service
  • "Request a quote" on jobs that can never carry a fixed price
  • Your licence numbers, insurance and guarantees on your own About page
  • Invoices with PDF download and overdue alerts

Everything above is on the Website plan at $20 a month. The Business plan at $25 adds customer records, invoices, barcode labels and inventory — compare the two plans.

Questions from contractors & trades

I do several trades. Can I list them separately?

Yes, and you should — a customer searching for a bathroom fitter should land on something that says bathrooms, not a general list. Each trade becomes its own service with its own description, photos and quote button.

Can I show which areas I cover?

Your address, service area and hours are part of your business profile, and they show on the site and in the structured data search engines read. If you travel, say so in your About page — it is a common thing for a customer to check before they get in touch.

Do I need to be at a computer to update it?

No. The dashboard is built to work on a phone, which is where most of this actually gets done — photographing a finished job on site and putting it straight on the gallery, or answering a quote request from the van.
